My Background 

Laurie Maldague

Hello students!  I am your English teacher.  I taught at Trade-Tech College in Los Angeles for many years, and now I am teaching for the State of California (CDCR) in northern California.   

I hold four degrees:  a BA from UC Riverside in Music, a BA from Cal State Dominguez in English, an MA from UCLA in Applied Linguistics (TESL), and an MA from UC Irvine in English Language & Literature.  I love to teach and write, specifically poems and novels (in progress!).  I also speak Spanish and French and have taught foreigners who are learning English as well as native speakers.  My other interests are the violin (classical, jazzy blues, bluegrass) and all kinds of dance.
